How to Use RDO Lab Grade
Prepare the Specimen
Fix tissue in 10% neutral buffered formalin for a minimum of 24 hours. Trim to 3–5mm thickness for best results.
Immerse in RDO Lab Grade
Submerge fixed tissue at a 20:1 ratio (solution to tissue volume). Use an appropriate sized container.
Monitor Progress
Check specimens periodically. Small biopsies typically complete in 1–4 hours, larger specimens in 6–24 hours.
Confirm Completion
Use bend test or x-ray to verify complete decalcification before removing from solution.
Rinse and Process
Rinse thoroughly in running tap water for 30–60 minutes, then proceed with routine histological processing.
